Flu season is approaching! Vaccinate yourself and your student! Remember, district policy states a student must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning to school. A fever is considered 100.0 degrees and above. Spring Branch Community Health Center is offering FREE Flu Vaccinations while supplies last: 713-462-6565 or 713-462-6545.
Cold/cough/congestion season will be here soon. Any medication your student needs at school must be kept in the clinic at all times, with the exception of approved student held inhalers. You can send the proper form and medication with your student to be dropped off in the clinic. I am here every morning at 7:00 am. Over the counter and prescription forms are attached below.
My assistant, Marian Gary, will be sending immunization requests to most 6th graders this week. Before entering 7th grade, they must have a Tdap (within the last 5 years), 2nd Varicella and a Meningococcal vaccine. When you receive the request and if your student has already received the immunizations, PLEASE send us a copy so we can update our records. Please send a copy when they receive the immunizations if they have not had them already.
I have soon begin state mandated screenings on 6th, 7th and 9th graders. Spinal screening will be done on 6th graders, vision, hearing, and acanthosis screening on 7th graders and spinal screening on 9th graders. If a student does not pass a screening, I will mail a referral home. Please send a copy of the report when you take your student to the Dr.
