| Westchester Academy is a member of the Houston
World Affairs Council. The Council provides programs on many
international issues. They bring in speakers with a wide variety of
experience in government and international affairs. Examples of past
speakers are former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, former US Senator
Sam Nunn, Prince Bandar Bin Sultan, ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the US. |
| |
| Houston World Affairs Council has a program
called Young Leaders' Forum. Students have the chance to listen
to speakers and ask questions on a variety of international topics.
|
| |
| Our goal at Westchester is to have students
participate in the Young Leaders' Forum. Ms. McKend and Ms. Waltman
will attend the forums with our students. Students can see either of
those teachers or Ms. Harelson to pick up parent permission slips for any of
the Young Leaders' Forums listed below. STUDENTS MUST LET US KNOW BY
RETURNING THE PERMISSION SLIPS THAT THEY WISH TO ATTEND, because we need to
let Houston World Affairs Council know that we are coming. |
