My background MA Degree - University of St. Thomas (2009) BA Degree - Houston Baptist University (1972) I am certified to sanely instruct classes in secondary English and all-level Art. After leaving Houston Baptist University, many years ago, I worked for corporate publications as a technical artist/writer, then as an editor for eight years. Teaching Social Studies, Art, Speech, Journalism and English in 7th thru 12th grades for the past 17 years have given me many wild and wonderfully rich experiences to pull from when writing for "fun" (yes, you CAN write and ENJOY it!). Do the math and you'll readily see that there is a chunk of time unaccounted for. That would be the 11 years that I took to spend with my own four kids (now 27, 26, 24 and 21). My philosophy It's inevitable - the minute we open our eyes we begin learning and it does not stop with graduation. The key to learning anything well is observation and listening. Our observations and thoughts become relevant to the rest of the world when we are able to effectively communicate to the people around us. When we no longer care about learning, we are no longer living life to its fullest, and we miss out on so many wonderful experiences. My advice to anyone and everyone (regardless of age) is to observe and be constantly aware of everything around you. We are given many great blessings every day, both in the form of people and nature. Soak these in and share. Schedule for classes - Room #A337 "A" Days "B" Days
