Family Math Nights

Thursday, October 12, 2006

Tuesday, March 6, 2007

Our Family Math Nights were an overwhelming success thanks to all involved.  The fun grew exponentially!  Our Math Club, led by Mikey Lee, did a great job organizing the Upper School activities and providing volunteers to help greet parents, set up displays, and clean up after the event.  All of our teachers found fun, interactive math activities that engaged students from 6th grade math to Calculus.  Everyone had fun with card tricks, graphing, and walking with CBRs to name just a few of the activities.  Well done!

WAIS Family Math Pi (p) Night

Tuesday, March 6, 2007

6:30-8:00 p.m.

Pi (π) Day is officially March 14 (3.14) but since we were on Spring Break, WAIS celebrated a little early on March 6th with Family Math Pi Night.  More than 200 students and parents joined us for activities involving π.  We had a pie walk on the unit circle, calculated the value of π, played π Jeopardy! and had an all-around great time.
