About Mrs. Jenkins
Mrs. Jenkins graduated from Texas Tech
Health Science Center with a Bachelor in Nursing in 2005. She worked for
over a year in Lubbock, Texas as a pediatric intensive care nurse at Covenant
Children's Hospital. She loved her challenging patients and loved her heart
babies but wanted to move closer to her growing family.

IMMUNIZATIONS:
All immunizations must be translated to English. Houston's department of Health can do the translations for you:

All immunization must be turned in on time to the clinic. Students will have notices sent home before the due date as reminders. After the due date the child will be excluded from school until the immunizations have been given. Please note that these absences will be unexcused. Please feel free to get the immunizations after the first reminder!! Please bring all shot records to the clinic directly. Sometimes they get misplaced when sent through the front offices.

All medications must be brought to the clinic before school starts for the day with the proper paperwork. Students found carrying medication will be in trouble. This includes cough drops. All prescription medication given three times a day (every 8 hours) or less may not be given at school. These should be given before school, after school, and at bed time. This is a district rule. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Jenkins with any medication questions before sending your child to school with medication! Medications for overnight field trips must be provided from home. Medications from the clinic will not be sent. Also, all medications must have instructions written in English.
SCREENINGS:
WAIS screenings include:
Hearing, Vision, Pre-Diabetes- 7th grade Scoliosis- 6th Grade Scoliosis- 9th Grade
All Screenings- New Students to SBISD
Screenings are required by the state. If you would like to have your personal physician do the screenings please feel free to contact me to get the proper paperwork before you go to the doctor. If your child is screened and referred please have your doctor fill out the form and return them to the clinic. Three referrals will be sent home if no forms are returned. Please let Mrs. Jenkins know if your family needs assistance with paying for the vision exam/glasses.

Spring Branch Community Health Center, 713-462-6565; 9325 Kempwood (@ Blalock). Vaccines are $5 per shot right now!!
All children needing immunizations before they return to school will have the opportunity to receive vaccinations at the Children’s Museum. Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas and Texas Children’s Hospital Mobile Unit will offer FREE vaccinations that children will need to start school. To qualify for vaccinations, parents or guardians will need to bring the child’s shot records.
