TEMA: Notificación a las Agencias Locales de Educacion Titulo III (LEAs) y Padres de Estudiantes con Dominio

Limitado en Inglés con Relación a Determinaciones para los Objetivos Mesurables de Logros Anuales

(AMAOs) en 2003-2004

Bajo a Ley Federal del 2001, Que Ningún Niño se Quede Atrás (NCLB), se le requiere la Agencia de Educacion de Texas (TEA) que anualmente haga Determinaciones para los Objetivos Mesurables de Logros Anuales para todas las agencias locales financiadas por Titulo III, de la Parte A, (LEAs). El Departamento de Educacion de los EU (USDE) ha requerido que la agencia TEA notifique a todas las agencias locales de educacion (LEAs) financiadas por Titulo III que la TEA no hizo Determinaciones AMAO para el año escolar 2003-2004, el primer año que se puso en práctica el requisito de AMAO.

TEA no pudo determinar los AMAOs en 2003-2004 debido a la falta de las evaluaciones necesarias y la agencia subsecuentemente desarrolló el sistema de evaluación de la habilidad del idioma inglés de Texas (TELPAS) para cumplir este requisito.

TEA has hecho Determinaciones AMAO cada año escolar después del 2003-2004 y continuará haciéndolo.

También se deberá notificar a los padres de todos los estudiantes con dominio limitado el inglés (LEP) en su LEA antes del 30 de abril de 2008. Usted puede enviar a los padres una copia de esta carta o una carta desarrollada por usted que contenga la misma información encontrada en los primeros dos párrafos de esta notificación. TEA le provee una copia de esta carta en español.

SUBJECT: Notification to Title III local Education Agencies (LEAs) and Parents of Limited English Proficient Students Regarding Determinations for Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs) in 2003-2004

Under the No Child left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is required to make Annual Measurable Achievement Objective (AMAO) determinations annually for all Title III, Part A, funded local education agencies (LEAs). The U.S. Department of Education (USDE) has required that the TEA notify all Title "' funded LEAs that the TEA did not make AMAO determinations for the 2003-2004 school year, the first year of implementation of the AMAO requirement.

The TEA was unable to determine AMAOs in 2003-2004 because the necessary assessments were not available, and the agency subsequently developed the Texas English language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) to meet this requirement. The TEA has made AMAO determinations each school year after 2003-2004 and will continue to do so.

Notification also must be provided to the parents of all limited English proficient (LEP) students in your LEA by April 30, 2008. You may send your parents a copy of this letter or a letter that you have developed that contains the same information as found in the first two paragraphs of this notification. A copy of this letter also is being provided in Spanish by the TEA.
