My name is Jackie Phillips and I am honored to be a part of the Westchester family. Advocating for international mindedness, I believe in the transformative power of the IB curriculum. With experience teaching and leading in the English Department, I have witnessed how this holistic approach impacts every facet of a student's development, providing a strong foundation for success in any future endeavor.
My commitment to the success of students extends beyond the classroom where I actively support teachers in implementing the various dimensions of the IB program. Recognizing the importance of meeting students where they are, understanding the whole child, and fostering a global perspective, I strive to create an enriching and supportive educational environment.
I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English and specialty in Education. I then went on to teach at another high school in Spring Branch before I found WAIS. I believe every student can learn at deep levels and has the power to make a positive impact in our world. Education is the key to a peaceful and productive society, so I am honored to be an educator.
Outside of the WAIS arches, my husband, dog, and I are adjusting to a more fast-paced eventful life with two year old twin boys. You'll find us reading to them, taking pictures of them, or exercising with them.
